Description
When you try to run a task sequence on unknown computers, the task sequence doesn't run..You see the following messages on smspxe.log (on the SCCM server):
Getting boot action for unknown machine: item key: 7844
Executing GetBootAction(7844, SMS1)
No Boot Action for Device (7844) found
ProcessDatabaseReply: No Advertisement found in Db for device
* 7844 can be another number.
Solution
This usually happens after upgrading SCCM (from SMS 2003), the "Unknown Computers" collection doesn't have the correct unknown computer objects.To resolve this, add the correct objects to the "Unknown Computers" collection (by searching for a resource ID with the same number you get on smspxe.log).
