Description

You get the following eventlog:
Event Type: Error
Event ID: 9646
Event Source: MSExchangeIS
Description: Mapi session "/o=whatever/ou=First Administrative Group/
cn=Recipients/cn=username" exceeded the maximum of 500 objects of type "objtFolder".

The issue can cause delay of new emails until a manual/automatic send/receive is done.

Solution

1. Start --> Run --> regedit
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\
MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
3. Create a new sub key: MaxObjsPerMapiSession
4. Create a new DWORD of 1024 under MaxObjsPerMapiSession: objtFolder
5. Wait 5 minutes for the Exchange server to recognize the change
